Pep Guardiola says his side “cannot” allow Arsenal to win the title because Manchester City do not win their own games.
City trail Arsenal by five points but having played a game less than their title rivals following the Gunners’ win over Burnley, and know they must win their last two to have any chance of lifting the title.
While it has not been confirmed by the club or Guardiola, the City boss is widely expected to leave the club at the end of the season after ten years at the club.
“I prefer it to be in our control,” admitted City’s boss ahead of the game against Bournemouth. “Because when it depends on the other ones, it’s something you cannot do, but you never know.
“The important thing is to be there. I remember Johan Cruyff, before those games said ‘win our game’.
“It’s not in our hands, but we cannot lose the Premier League because they don’t win and we don’t win. That cannot happen. We have to. It’s the same.
The Catalan continued: “My mindset is, let’s win the game to arrive with a last chance and after that, guys, win our game.
“Don’t focus on anything else and after that, it’s not in our control.”

Arsenal take on Crystal Palace on the final day – just three days before the Eagles’ UEFA Conference League final. Meanwhile, City face an away trip to take on an in-form Bournemouth side on Tuesday night, before hosting Europa League finalists Aston Villa on the last day.
Guardiola, speaking before Arsenal’s game, said: “We know if today Arsenal win and if we don’t win tomorrow, we will congratulate Arsenal.
“We would like to take it to Crystal Palace away. We play at home. I will not say Aston Villa is easy but completely the opposite.
“But we would love to be arriving there at 3pm next Sunday. Maybe what will happen here or in Selhurst Park it will be nice, to extend this for five days, the hope that maybe we can win the Premier League again. So, that is what we like.
“But I know the task tomorrow will be so difficult.”
