Guardiola provides injury update on Man City duo – and says the ‘important part of the season’ starts now | OneFootball

Pep Guardiola says he will make a late decision as to whether Erling Haaland and Nico Gonzalez can be involved against Nottingham Forest.

Haaland was absent from the squad for Manchester City’s 1-0 win over Leeds and remains a doubt to face Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.

“He feels much better,” Guardiola said on Haaland.

“Yesterday we didn’t train and now we are training. We will decide today.

“Nico is the same. We will decide after training.”

City go into the clash with Forest trailing league leaders Arsenal by five points but having played a game less, and Guardiola says his side cannot afford to drop any more points.

“Now we start the important part of the season,” he said.

“When you start the last ten games of the season, it starts to be decisive, every point.

“We have two Premier League games before the international break and it’s really important. We are five points behind Arsenal so we cannot drop points.”
