Newcastle United entertained Nottingham Forest at St. James’ Park earlier today as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Magpies made a decent start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.

Bruno Guimaraes opened the goal-scoring for Newcastle in the 58th minute before Nick Woltemade killed the game off from the penalty spot in the 84th minute. The contest ended with Eddie Howe’s men securing a solid 2-0 win in front of their home fans.

LB: Dan Burn – 7/10

He didn’t do much wrong when defending inside his half and has got an assist to show for his efforts.

CM: Bruno Guimaraes – 8.5/10

The Brazilian talent caught the eye at times on both halves and deserves credit for scoring the opener in the 58th minute.

CM: Sandro Tonali – 7.5/10

He anchored the midfield well and ran the show in the opponent’s half.

CM: Joelinton – 7/10

Joelinton came back to defend when needed and was a real menace in the final third.

RW: Anthony Elanga – 6.5/10

He managed to shine at times on the right flank but failed to register a goal.

ST: Nick Woltemade – 7.5/10

Woltemade was a real handful for the opposition defenders and did well to score from the penalty spot in the 84th minute.

He made one promising run with the ball, but there was no goal for him.
