Gustavo Henrique may miss Corinthians’ friendly against Cascavel on Sunday, 12. Meu Timao understands the centre-back has discomfort and is unlikely to travel.

He has not joined recent on-pitch work at CT Joaquim Grava. According to ge.globo, he has been training indoors because of hip flexor pain.

Corinthians have at least three sessions scheduled on Thursday, Friday and Saturday before the warm-up game. The only player currently away from the group is Memphis Depay, on holiday after the Netherlands’ World Cup run ended on 29 June in the last 32 following elimination by Morocco.

Gustavo Henrique has been a key figure in 2026, featuring in 30 of 37 matches and scoring four goals, the squad’s third-best tally. Only Yuri Alberto, six, and André Luiz, five, have more.

If he is not fit, coach Fernando Diniz could pair Gabriel Paulista with André Ramalho. João Pedro Tchoca, back in training after surgery on an inguinal hernia during the break, could be an option, with 17-year-old Iago Machado next in line.

Corinthians travel to Paraná for their first friendly since 2024, when they beat Londrina 3-0 at the Olímpico Regional in Cascavel, the venue again on Sunday. Kick-off is at 16:00.

Their next competitive match is on Thursday, 23 July, against Remo at the Neo Química Arena, starting at 19:30 in the 19th round of the Brasileirão.
