Gustavo Henrique apologises as Corinthians hit nine-match winless run | OneFootball

Corinthians lost 1-0 to Internacional at the Neo Química Arena on Sunday in the Campeonato Brasileiro, extending their run to nine matches without a win.

According to Meu Timao, captain Gustavo Henrique apologised to supporters and said the group must keep quiet and work daily to restore some joy, acknowledging fans’ justified questioning.

Their last victory came on 19 February against Athletico Paranaense. Since then they have drawn five and lost four. They had not gone this long without a win since 2007, the year they were relegated.

Henrique addressed scrutiny on coach Dorival Júnior, stressing responsibility lies with everyone, staff and players. He accepted the team are not in a good moment and must assume that and work.

Dorival Júnior was dismissed after the defeat, leaving Corinthians without a head coach. They visit Argentina’s Platense on Thursday at the Estádio Coliseo de Victoria at 21:30, opening their Copa Libertadores group campaign.
