Brentford Women were ruthless in their finishing as they defeated Hackney Women 10-1 in the LSE Division One North on Sunday afternoon.

Chloe Logie netted a brace, and Maddie Phillips and Nikki Woods both scored goals from distance, with Samantha Read, Ashley Cheatley, Habeebat Gbajabiamila and Kirsty Matthews also on target. Two own goals rounded off the scoring.

Despite the dominant scoreline, it was the home team who settled the quicker of the two sides as they looked to disrupt the Bees' rhythm.

Against the run of play, Logie gave Brentford the lead, slotting from close range after she capitalised on a loose pass from the opposition.

Phillips doubled the advantage with a great strike from distance which caught the goalkeeper off guard.

On 11 minutes, Karleigh Osborne's side were three goals up as Logie grabbed her second of the game. The Hackney goalkeeper's clearance inadvertently went in off the striker.

The home side did capitalise on an underhit back pass as their striker finished well from close range to pull a goal back.

That goal was a momentary blip though, as the three-goal lead was soon restored. The Bees put pressure on the Hackney defenders from a corner and one of their players diverted an attempted clearance into her own net following a goalmouth scramble.

The fifth came on 42 minutes as Woods slalomed her way through a number of challenges before whipping a great strike into the top corner.

Cheatley got her name on the scoresheet early in the second period as she finished well from close range.

On 67 minutes, the scoreline was 7-1 as defender Read popped up in an attacking position and reacted quickest to a cross in the box.

An eighth was scored as Hackney conceded their second own goal of the game.

Second-half substitutes Gbajabiamila and Matthews added their names to the scoreline as the west Londoners made it 10 goals for the afternoon.

This was the fourth time this season that the Bees have hit double digits in a league game.

Osborne's side are next in action on Sunday 6 April as they take on Ashmount Leigh at home.
