Hansi Flick ‘seriously considered’ one change to his XI to face Real Madrid | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick gave serious consideration to one significant alteration to the line-up which he made use of against Real Madrid over the weekend.

Barca are of course fresh off a Clásico victory which will live long in the memory.

After making the trip to the Santiago Bernabéu for a showdown with Carlo Ancelotti’s reigning La Liga champions, the Blaugrana emerged triumphant, by four goals to nil.

Boss Hansi Flick for his part opted to utilise the same XI in Madrid as he had done in midweek, when Barcelona also made short work of Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

As per a report from Diario Sport, though, this final call was only made at the last minute.

The German tactician considered throwing Frenkie de Jong back in from the off, but ultimately opted for Fermín López instead.

De Jong was then introduced off the bench at the interval, a change which completely altered the flow of the clash, affording the visitors an added element of control in the middle of the park en route to a quartet of 2nd-half goals.
