PSG may be in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer as uncertainty grows around Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future.
While the Italian international is under contract through 2026, the club has yet to open talks over an extension—a delay that’s already fueling speculation about potential replacements, including a veteran option from Barcelona.
It’s a pivotal decision, and other European giants are paying attention. Inter Milan and Manchester United are both monitoring the situation closely, wondering if PSG still see Donnarumma as their long-term answer in goal.
Since arriving from AC Milan in 2021, Donnarumma has delivered in key moments, especially in penalty shootouts and high-pressure games. Still, his time in Paris hasn’t been without its challenges. The costly mistake against Real Madrid in the 2022 Champions League remains a blemish on his record and continues to raise doubts about his composure in big matches.
Now, with PSG finally lifting the Champions League trophy, attention turns to what comes next. Donnarumma ended the season on a high note and remains the club’s first-choice keeper. But as his contract winds down, PSG face a critical call: extend his deal or risk losing him as interest from top clubs grows.

BILD has linked PSG to Marc-André ter Stegen if he ends up leaving Barcelona. Other clubs reportedly interested in Donnarumma include AC Milan, Manchester City, Juventus, and Newcastle United.
According to Diario SPORT, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is set to hold crucial talks with ter Stegen this week. The longtime No. 1 appears to be out of Flick’s plans but could still see out the final year of his contract at the club.
SPORT previously revealed that ter Stegen isn’t open to leaving unless Barcelona pay out the remainder of his deal.
Meanwhile, CaughtOffside reported that Chelsea continue exploring their goalkeeper options, with ter Stegen among the names under consideration. The same report notes that Manchester United have also shown interest in the 33-year-old as they evaluate alternatives to Andre Onana.
