FC Bayern are on the verge of making a decision in a tricky personnel matter: a player on loan could leave the club for good in the summer
FC Bayern could close another chapter of a difficult transfer in the summer: Sacha Boey, who was loaned out to Galatasaray in the winter, is apparently about to leave Munich permanently
As reported in the BILD podcast„Bayern Insider“, those responsible in Istanbul are satisfied with the right-back’s performances, with Galatasaray planning to exercise the agreed purchase option of around €15 million in the summer
For Boey, it would be a return to a club where he had already impressed in the past. After his loan spell, the 25-year-old seems to have found his old form again and is playing a much bigger role in Istanbul than he did recently at FC Bayern
In Munich, the Frenchman was never able to live up to the high expectations following his transfer. Injuries and inconsistent performances prevented him from making a lasting impact. In the end, he was only able to play as a supplementary player before the decision was made to loan him out in the winter
From FC Bayern’s point of view, a sale in the summer could be a clean solution. Although the club would incur losses compared to the original transfer fee, it would create planning security and relieve the salary budget at the same time

Developments at Galatasaray are in Munich’s favor: if the purchase option is actually activated, the Boey issue would be resolved without further negotiations
This suggests that the two sides will part ways for good in the summer – and that a transfer that never really worked out in Munich will come to a somewhat conciliatory end after all.
