Leeds United prospect Harry Gray is closing in on a season-long League One loan to Sheffield Wednesday, reuniting with a familiar face.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the 17-year-old enjoyed his first run of senior football last season at Rotherham United, making 20 appearances and scoring three goals as the Millers were relegated amid managerial change and injuries.
A second loan was always the plan for 2026/27, with Leeds preferring League One again. Huddersfield Town and Wednesday were keen, and the Owls have now won the race, with a deal close to agreement and Gray supportive of the switch.
Wednesday have entered a new era following a takeover, despite dropping into League One from the Championship. The move will reunite Gray with former Leeds captain Liam Cooper, who has signed a new deal at Hillsborough after a short-term stint that brought 14 outings last season.
Gray will join Henrik Pedersen’s squad, already back in training, to build experience and contribute to what is expected to be a promotion push.
