Harry Kane has officially finished as the winner of the 2025/26 European Golden Shoe after Europe’s major domestic leagues came to an end this weekend.

The Bayern Munich striker topped the rankings with 36 Bundesliga goals, comfortably finishing ahead of Manchester City forward Erling Haaland, who ended the campaign on 27 league goals, and Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé, who scored 25 in La Liga.

Kane’s league form was exceptional throughout the season, reaching his tally in just 31 Bundesliga appearances. The award caps off a remarkable individual year for the England captain, who also broke the 60-goal mark across all competitions for the first time in his career.

The 32-year-old reached 61 goals for the season after scoring a hat-trick in Bayern’s 3-0 German Cup final victory over Stuttgart on Saturday.

Kane’s overall numbers place him in elite company. He became the first player since Cristiano Ronaldo in 2014/15 to score more than 60 goals for a European club in a single season. Before Kane, only Ronaldo and Lionel Messi had managed the feat in the modern era.

He also became just the second English player to score 60 or more goals in a season for a club in Europe’s top five leagues, with Everton legend Dixie Dean achieving 63 goals back in 1927/28.

Although Kane fell short of Robert Lewandowski’s Bundesliga record of 41 goals in a single campaign, his season will still go down as one of the finest by a striker in recent European football history.
