Harry Kane has turned down Barcelona’s interest and will commit his future to Bayern Munich by signing a new contract with the Bundesliga champions, according to The Athletic.
The England captain had emerged as a surprise target for the La Liga giants, who enquired with his representatives as they explored bringing the prolific striker to the Camp Nou.
However, they informed Barcelona that Kane is settled in Munich and has no intention of leaving the German club.
Kane’s current deal runs until the summer of 2027, but discussions over an extension have been progressing for months.
Bayern are quite confident that the 32-year-old will put pen to paper on fresh terms, continuing a very successful spell in Bavaria.
The former Tottenham Hotspur star also had the opportunity to trigger a release clause in his contract this summer, but that would have required him to notify Bayern back in January.
Kane’s camp made it clear that any conversations about his future would wait until after the 2026 World Cup, although all indications point towards him remaining at the Allianz Arena.
Few could argue with that decision given Kane’s extraordinary form in Germany.
Since completing his £86.4 million move from Spurs in 2023, he has scored a remarkable 146 goals for Bayern in just three seasons.
He has climbed to seventh on the club’s all-time scoring charts while helping them secure two Bundesliga titles.
His sensational 2025/26 campaign produced 61 goals and seven assists in 51 appearances across all competitions.
Kane is now fully focused on England’s World Cup campaign under Thomas Tuchel.
The Three Lions skipper has already taken his tournament tally to 11 goals after strikes against Croatia and Panama.
He will captain his country when England face DR Congo in the round of 32.
