Harry Kane has a release clause of £67m in his Bayern Munich contract that will become active this summer.
Kane has been a huge hit since signing for Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023. The England captain has scored 70 goals in 72 appearances for the German giants and was winner of the European Golden Shoe last season.
The 31-year-old failed to win elusive silverware in his debut campaign at Bayern, though the Bavarians are currently six points clear of champions Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga. Vincent Kompany’s side will also take on Celtic in the Champions League’s play-off round later this month.
According to Sky Sports, Kane is understood to be ‘very happy’ at Bayern and has ‘no plans to leave’ but a release clause in his contract could attract bids from the Premier League.
Manchester United are long-term admirers of the forward, while former club Spurs have a ‘first option’ to match any bid for their record scorer. Kane’s release clause will drop further, to £54m, in the 2026 January transfer window.
Kane departed for Bayern Munich in search of the silverware that had evaded him in English football. Should he achieve major honours this season, a return to the Premier League could appeal. Kane is the second-highest scorer in Premier League history with 213 goals and just 48 goals from Alan Shearer’s record.
