Spurs legend faces familiar foes in the Champions League on Wednesday
Harry Kane has hailed his move to Bayern Munich from Tottenham as “one of the best decisions” of his life.
The England international departed north London for pastures new back in the summer of 2023, for a fee of £86.4million.
Since then, the striker has been a revelation in Germany, hitting 109 goals in 114 games for the Bundesliga outfit.
He has also ended his career trophy drought, winning the German top-flight title in 2024-25, and the German Super Cup this year.
Kane returns to a familiar stomping ground in the Champions League in midweek, when Bayern take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
The Spurs legend has a year and a half left on his current deal in Bavaria, and there have been numerous rumours of a move elsewhere, including to Barcelona.
However, Kane shut those rumours down in a press conference on Tuesday.
“The move to Bayern was one of the best decisions of my life,” Kane said.
“I am happy here. I am open to staying longer.
“We will have discussions about a possible new contract in the coming months.”
Looking ahead to the encounter against familiar foes, Kane was complimentary about his former arch-rivals.
"It'll be a tough game for us,” he continued.
“There's a reason why Arsenal are up there in the Champions League and Premier League. They're very solid. We need to make sure we're alert all over and that we make things tough for them to win the ball back.
“We need to make use of other strengths, our pressing. It's two of the best teams in the world [against each other]."
The forward’s focus, however, remains on the game at hand, rather than any storylines that could paint him out to be the pantomime villain.
"When I was at Tottenham, this North London derby was always a big moment,” he said.
“But it's not about me and Arsenal, it's about Bayern and Arsenal. I'm in good form and it's just about helping my team and scoring goals."
