England striker fired Bavarians to yet another title this season
Harry Kane is set to enter talks over a new Bayern Munich contract after helping the Bavarians seal a 35th Bundesliga title.
England captain Kane has run riot since moving to Germany from Tottenham in a £100million deal in 2023, scoring 138 goals in 141 appearances.
His contract is due to expire at the end of next season, though, and Bayern are keen to tie the 32-year-old down to a new deal.
Kane has made no secret of the fact he is happy with life in Germany, and his family are thought to be settled in Munich, too. He already has two Bundesliga titles under his belt and remains in the running to win a first Champions League title this season.
Bayern will have no issues with his performances, either, and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who sits on the club’s board, has confirmed that plans are in place to open contract talks this summer.
“Bringing Harry Kane to Bayern Munich was a major coup in the club’s history,” Rummenigge told T-Online.
“It’s well known that he had a release clause. He didn’t activate it, signalling that he would definitely stay in Munich.

“And now, the relevant management in the operational area – as agreed – will hold talks with him sometime after the season, with the clear aim of extending his contract because Harry has undergone another transformation under Vincent Kompany.
“He’s always been a great striker who scored a lot of goals, but now he’s a playmaker, dropping back into midfield and using his wonderful long passes to bring Michael Olise and Luis Díaz into the game. That’s very important for our style of play.”
It will be a busy summer for Kane, who will also captain England through the World Cup as well as entering contract talks with Bayern.
The newly-crowned Bundesliga champions may enter the market for a new striker this summer regardless of whether Kane extends his deal after Max Eberl confirmed Nicolas Jackson’s loan from Chelsea would not be made permanent this summer.
Michael Olise is garnering transfer interest after his stellar campaign, but Rumegge confirmed Bayern had no intention to let the ex-Crystal Palace winger go.
He added: “For a player like Olise, there’s no price tag that would make us flinch.
“He’s a wonderful player. I also appreciate how reserved and almost media-shy he is. That’s rare these days. He’s a great guy and on the pitch he’s outstanding.”
