Has Xavi Simons played his last game for RB Leipzig?

Bild report that Xavi Simons’ availability for today’s game between RB Leipzig and Atalanta is in doubt. The Dutchman complained of persistent neck pain on Friday and was unable to train with the team, and with an impending move to Chelsea, could have played his last game for the Bundesliga club.

Xavi would prefer a move to the Premier League, and it would appear that RB Leipzig won’t put any obstacles in the way of the 22-year-old’s departure, as long as the pursuing club meet Leipzig’s valuation of a reported €70m to sign the playmaker – although, per Bild, the Saxony club are yet to receive an offer.

However, Fabrizio Romano reports that negotiations between Chelsea and Leipzig are at an advanced stage. Sky Germany further report that Chelsea want to close the deal soon, with a new round of talks scheduled to take place. As such, it would appear that Xavi to Chelsea could be wrapped up imminently.
