Chelsea are understood to want “around” £5m for Alfie Gilchrist, and four Championship clubs have made enquiries according to Ben Jacobs.
Gilchrist is a product of Chelsea’s famed Cobham academy and was handed his first team debut under Mauricio Pochettino.
The 21-year-old put in some impressive performances in his 17 appearances in all competitions, and scored his first goal in a 6-0 win against Everton.
Despite impressing the decision was taken to send Gilchrist on loan to Championship side Sheffield United for regular first team football.
Gilchrist made 32 appearances in all competitions for the Blades as they missed out on promotion to the Premier League.
Chelsea are looking to move a number of players on this summer, and Gilchrist falls into that category, but he’s not short of suitors.

Gilchrist has reportedly been the subject of approaches from clubs in Saudi Arabia, whilst there’s also interest from the Championship and Jacobs has provided an update on his future.
He took to X.com and said:
“Exclusive: Derby, Watford, Middlesbrough and Blackburn have all enquired on Alfie Gilchrist this summer.
“Understand Chelsea looking for around £5m. No plans to sanction a loan as it stands.”
Gilchrist, who can play both centre back and right back is out of contract in 2026, and any fee would be pure profit because of his academy status.
Gilchrist won’t be the only defender leaving Chelsea this summer, will Axel Disasi and Renato Veiga also likely to leave.

Disasi is thought to be valued at around €35m with Newcastle said to be leading the race for the 27-year-old, who’s preference is to remain in the Premier League.
Veiga, who only joined last summer spent the second half of the season on loan at Juventus, is also expected to be moved on, with the Portugal international valued at around €30m and attracting interest from Bayern Munich.
