Anthony Gordon has officially begun a new chapter in his career after securing his move to Barcelona, and the English winger has already revealed one of the first people who is helping him prepare for life at the Catalan club.
While Gordon’s transfer to Barcelona has been completed, uncertainty continues to surround Marcus Rashford.
The English forward enjoyed a successful loan spell at the club, but Barcelona are yet to reach an agreement with Manchester United regarding a permanent move.
With Gordon arriving and Rashford’s future still unresolved, some could have expected an awkward dynamic between the two players.
However, Gordon has quickly dismissed any such suggestions by speaking warmly about his fellow England international.

Following England’s victory over New Zealand, Gordon opened up about conversations he had with Rashford after learning that he would be heading to Barcelona.
The winger explained that Rashford was eager to help him settle into his new surroundings and offered valuable information about both the club and the city.
“He told me how great the lads are, the team spirit they have, something I’d already heard from the people at Barça.
“So I’m really looking forward to joining them. He also told me about the city and places to live. He’s a lovely bloke, very thoughtful. He’s just given me a bit of information.”
Gordon also reflected on what has been a life-changing period for both himself and his family after completing one of the biggest moves in European football.

“It’s been an intense two weeks, but the best I’ve ever experienced for myself and my family.”
Furthermore, the winger made it clear that simply wearing the Barcelona shirt is not enough for him.
Instead, he sees this move as the beginning of a new phase where expectations will be higher and success will be demanded every season.
“It’s been brilliant because ever since I was very young, I told them, in my interview, that I’d get to this point.
“I’m not content just to play for Barcelona. I want to win everything. This is where my career begins, in my opinion. So I’m at the stage I always said I’d be at. Now I need to take the next step.”
