‘He won’t be the one to solve all the problems’ – Real Madrid icon not convinced Mourinho can solve the crisis | OneFootball

As speculation surrounding Jose Mourinho and a dramatic return to Real Madrid continues to grow, former club manager and sporting director Jorge Valdano has offered a strong warning about the challenges awaiting the Portuguese coach.

Mourinho’s possible comeback has already divided opinion among sections of the Real Madrid fanbase. 

While many supporters remain excited by the idea of bringing back one of football’s biggest personalities, others question whether he is truly the right solution for a squad that has struggled with inconsistency and internal problems this season.

Valdano appears to fall somewhere in the middle, as the former Real Madrid figure acknowledged Mourinho’s ability to influence the club positively but also insisted that expecting him to solve every issue would be unrealistic.

Speaking about the current state of the team, Valdano explained, “Mourinho won’t be the one to solve all the problems Real Madrid has. 

“Players will need to be signed for key positions. In fact, given the current situation, there needs to be a leadership revolution within the dressing room.”

While Mourinho’s arrival would instantly bring experience, authority and attention back to the Bernabeu, Valdano believes the problems within the club go deeper than simply changing the manager.

Advice to the fans

Over the last season, Real Madrid have often looked emotionally fragile in high-pressure situations, despite possessing enormous individual talent throughout the squad.

Valdano also sent a message to supporters who feel uncertain or frustrated by the direction the club could take if Mourinho returns. 

Asked what advice he would give to fans thinking about distancing themselves from the club, he responded with a calm but emotional message.

“To hang in there. I’m going to remain a Real Madrid fan despite the disagreements. Hang in there, hang in there. 

“There are good times, bad times and tragic times in life,” he concluded.
