Héctor Hernández has joined Portuguese top-flight side Gil Vicente on a contract to 2027 after ending his deal with Corinthians on Tuesday.
The club said in a statement that the Spanish forward has become their latest signing.
He was not in Dorival Júnior’s plans for 2026 and had been training apart from the squad at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava. The parties agreed to terminate his contract, saving the club R$ 4.8 million.
Following his exit, Corinthians now have only defender Renato and midfielder Alex Santana separated from the first team. Both are training at alternative times and are not in Dorival’s plans at present.
Hernández arrived in the second half of 2024 after impressing for Chaves in Portugal. Before that he played for second and third-tier Spanish clubs, and he helped Corinthians win the 2025 Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brasil.
Without him, Corinthians’ options up front are Yuri Alberto, Pedro Raul and Gui Negão.
