There may be plenty of players who need replacing at Ewood Park next summer

Despite a slow start, it turned out to be a busy summer for Blackburn Rovers in the transfer window.

By the time the market closed on the 30th August, nine new first-team players had been added to the first-team squad at Ewood Park.

However, there were exits too, with six more players departing John Eustace's side, either permanently, or on loan.

It already looks as though the summer of 2025 could be a busy one for the Lancashire club as well, with plenty more individuals in line to move on at that point, when their contracts or loans expire.

With that in mind, we've taken a look at the 12 senior players who, as things stand, are set to leave Blackburn Rovers next summer, right here.

Dominic Hyam

Ever since he arrived at Ewood Park in the summer of 2022, Dominic Hyam has been one of the club's first choice centre-backs, even wearing the captain's armband at times.

Having signed a three-year contract when he joined, the Scot is now in the final year of his deal. Rovers will want to extend that, and also have the protection of an option to extend by a further 12 months for next season.

Kyle McFadzean

Another former Coventry City centre-back, Kyle McFadzean, first joined Blackburn on a short-term deal in January, enjoying an excellent first few months with the club.

He returned in the summer on a new one-year deal, which means he is due to leave at the end of the season. Many fans, though, are already hoping the 37-year-old remains in a coaching capacity.

Danny Batth

Having been a target for the club last summer, Danny Batth finally made a move to Ewood Park this summer, following his release by Norwich City.

The 33-year-old has signed a one-year deal with the Lancashire outfit, meaning his future will be up in the air again come the end of the season, as things stand.

Owen Beck

The first of the loanees on this list, Owen Beck joined on a temporary, season-long deal from Liverpool late in the summer window.

The left-back is the latest in a long line of players to swap Anfield for a Blackburn loan spell in recent years, with his debut at Burnley in the final game before the international break showing signs of promise for his spell in Lancashire.

Lewis Baker

Another loanee, Lewis Baker, joined Rovers from Stoke City late in the summer window, adding depth to the centre of midfield at Ewood Park.

While he is only due to be at the club until the end of the season, his contract with his parent club also expires next summer, which could open the door to a longer-term move.

Andreas Weimann

With Blackburn looking to add more experience to their squad this summer, Andreas Weimann was one of those brought to Ewood Park.

The Austrian has already made himself popular with three goals - including that incredible equaliser at Burnley - but having signed a one-year deal, his future will be up in the air again next summer.

Arnor Sigurdsson

Last summer, Arnor Sigurdsson moved to Ewood Park after freezing his contract at CSKA Moscow, before making that move permanent last December.

That deal is set to run until the end of this season, meaning there is a decision to be made on the future of the winger - who has shown flashes of quality for Rovers - in the next few months.

Tyrhys Dolan

Blackburn triggered a one-year option on the contract of Tyrhys Dolan this summer, to ensure he did not leave for free this year.

It was then reportedly decided that the attacker would remain at Ewood this season, despite that meaning he could be free to leave in the summer of 2025, although the club will surely want to change that with a new deal for the 22-year-old.

Amario Cozier-Duberry

Rovers continued their recent trend of signing players on loan from Brighton this summer, with the temporary signing of Amario Cozier-Duberry until the end of the campaign.

The winger had only joined the Seagulls from Arsenal this summer, and with both Premier League sides seemingly rating him highly, he could be an exciting prospect for Eustace's side this season.

Ryan Hedges

Another winger on this list, Ryan Hedges, signed for Blackburn from Aberdeen on a three-and-a-half-year deal back in the January 2022 transfer window.

As a result, the Welshman is due to become a free agent at the end of this season, although there is an option within that contract for the club to extend by a further 12 months, providing some security to this deal for now.

Dilan Markanday

Rovers also signed Dilan Markanday on a three-and-a-half-year deal back in January 2022, but he has struggled to establish himself in the first-team since joining from Tottenham.

As a result, the winger is currently out on loan with Chesterfield, and how he fares for the League Two side could influence whether or not the option for an extra year in his contract at Ewood Park is triggered this summer.

Jack Vale

Having come through the youth ranks with Blackburn, Jack Vale has never produced the end product required from a striker to make himself a regular for the first-team.

He is, therefore, now in his second straight loan spell at Motherwell, with his contract at Ewood Park set to expire this summer, and a decision over whether to trigger the option in it is also likely to be influenced by his form with the Scottish Premiership club.
