Only final details are said to be outstanding, and the move is aimed at a push back to the 2. Bundesliga. The centre-back made nine Bundesliga appearances for the Billygoats last season.

Kaiserslautern, of the second division, have an agreement with VfB Stuttgart for Knesevic, and the 19-year-old has completed his medical at the Rhineland Palatinate club.

A centre-half by trade, he featured 26 times for Stuttgart's U-19s last term, supplying one goal and an assist. The report added the Croatian U-19 international is expected to sign a contract running until summer 2029.
