FLW takes a look at three free agents who the Owls could sign after Henrik Pedersen confirmed that they can sign a new player.
Sheffield Wednesday are in the market for a free agent signing, a week after the January transfer window closed as the Owls edge closer to relegation to League One.
Following a 4-0 defeat to Swansea City on Sunday, the South Yorkshire outfit know that they could be relegated at Bramall Lane in just under two weeks' time, and Henrik Pedersen is keen to prolong the inevitable in S6.
Yan Valery's move to Swiss club Young Boys has freed up a space in the Owls' threadbare squad, and their head coach confirmed following their loss in South Wales that they can now make a move for a free agent to help fill that space.
Football League World has taken a look at three unattached players who Sheffield Wednesday could make a move for in the coming days as they prepare to welcome Millwall to Hillsborough this weekend.

Onel Hernandez spent the first-half of the campaign with Charlton Athletic, but after making just six appearances for the Addicks, the winger moved on from The Valley at the end of January and is now looking for a new club.
The 33-year-old has made 210 Championship appearances in his career so far, winning promotion once with Norwich City. He played 29 times in the Premier League as the Canaries were relegated straight back to the second tier, but he would be an excellent addition for Pedersen.
Sheffield Wednesday are relying on several youth players to help fill out their squad, and having a player like Hernandez in their ranks would be perfect for the Owls as they look to add more seniority to the team. The ex-Middlesbrough man would also benefit from game time at this level, as he looks for a more permanent home in the future.

Kyle Naughton has been without a club since the summer after he left Swansea following a 10-year stint in South Wales and while there will be fitness concerns, he would be the most like-for-like replacement at Hillsborough following Valery's exit.
Sheffield Wednesday are in need of a new full-back, and the 37-year-old has an incredible amount of experience that would come in extremely useful in S6 for the final few months of the season.
However, Naughton, who was born in Sheffield, does have incredibly strong links to the Blades. He joined the club as a six-year-old, before leaving in the first few years of his career for Tottenham Hotspur. Yet, with game time almost guaranteed, he may be tempted if an approach is made.

Another player who has been without a club throughout 2025/26, Lucas Andersen has been on the lookout for a new team since the summer and Sheffield Wednesday could provide him with an ample home until the end of the season.
The Dane scored once and registered four assists in just 16 Championship games in his first season in the division while with QPR in 2023/24. However, he was unable to match that form last time out. Nevertheless, the 31-year-old still has plenty to offer.
He will be keen to play at as high a level as he possibly can and prove to other clubs that he has the talent for the second tier in England. Andersen could also provide Sheffield Wednesday with some much-needed depth in midfield, and he may just help with their goalscoring problems.
