Henrique Monteiro banned 8 days: “Call the fouls c…, same as ever”

Henrique Monteiro, FC Porto’s executive director, was handed an eight-day suspension by the FPF Disciplinary Board following the red card shown in the final match of the league season, against AVS SAD. The official, who usually serves as the Dragons’ match delegate, was also fined 1,275 euros.

“He deliberately left the technical area to protest or argue with a member of the refereeing team, gesturing emphatically in the referee’s direction and saying: ‘Call the fouls, f***, you’re always the same,’” reads the list of sanctions, quoting what Carlos Macedo, the referee for the match in Vila das Aves, wrote in his report.
