Dominik Szoboszlai has agreed a new deal with Liverpool.
The Hungarian is one of the best players at the club right now and he is on his way to becoming a legend.
Over the course of the last year, Szoboszlai has become a fan favourite at Anfield and has truly lived up to the no.8 shirt that comes with the burden of Steven Gerrard's legacy.
Whether deployed at right-back, orchestrating play from central midfield, or unlocking defences as an attacking midfielder, Szoboszlai can be relied upon anywhere on the pitch.
Few players possess the technical quality that he has but even fewer combine it with the tactical awareness and work ethic that makes him such an integral player for the Reds.
Whatever the team needs, Szoboszlai seems capable of providing it.
And even more than that.
Right now, no player strikes a dead ball as sweetly as he does.
His technique is unique. Using his small feet, he is able to generate an incredible amount of power, dip and pinpoint accuracy that leaves goalkeepers rooted to the spot.
Over the course of last season, every foul within 30 yards of goal felt like a genuine scoring opportunity. He is one of football's elite set-piece specialists. Up there with David Beckham and Lionel Messi.
It is this unique combination of versatility, technical excellence, and match-winning quality that makes Szoboszlai so special.
He embodies everything Liverpool supporters admire - commitment, creativity, resilience and a desire to take responsibility when the pressure is greatest.
As the club continues to evolve, he has all the attributes to become its defining figure. More than just a star player, Szoboszlai has every ingredient to become the future face of Liverpool and the heartbeat of a new era at Anfield.
With Andoni Iraola's intense style, Szoboszlai could become the beating heart of the team. There's a vice captaincy vacancy at the moment and he could also fill that whole perfectly, having led his nation for several years.
But the big question mark has been about his future.
Will Szoboszlai stay, or will he go?
Well, that seems to have been settled.
Pool Baratok, a Hungarian Liverpool fan page has took to Facebook to confirm that Szoboszlai has agreed a new contract with Richard Hughes and he is set to sign new terms with the club today.
It's massive news, given his contract was due to expire in 2028, and given the fact that Liverpool had failed to extend the contracts of Ibrahima Konate and Trent Alexander-Arnold, who both left to join Real Madrid.
Szoboszlai won't have the same fate it looks like. He's going to be at Liverpool for the long-term and now will likely become the vice captain before taking over Virgil van Dijk's duties as the captain of the club whenever the Dutchman leaves.
