CD Guadalajara asserted its dominance early, with Fernando Beltrán finding the back of the net in 22’ off a cross from Cade Cowell.

Ten minutes into the second half, Javier “Chicharito” Hernández doubled the lead when Jonathan Padilla beat his defender on the wing and delivered the assist.

Hernández scored his first ever Concacaf Champions Cup goal, becoming the second Mexican player to score in three of the main continental tournaments – Concacaf Champions Cup, CONMEBOL Libertadores, and UEFA Champions League – after Guillermo Franco.

Cibao FC’s Camilo Mancilla was sent off in the 62’ for stopping a potential scoring opportunity with a handball.

El Rebaño Sagrado delivered the final blow in the 78’ as Armando González slid in at the far post to finish off a corner kick opportunity.

The victory marked Guadalajara’s largest goal differential in a Concacaf Champions Cup game since the 2018 quarterfinals, when it defeated Seattle Sounders FC by the same margin.

CD Guadalajara has kept a clean sheet in three of its last five matches when playing the second leg at home in the current format.
