A Bola claims Hidemasa Morita is certain to leave Sporting CP this summer, with Leeds United among the clubs interested. The report says the midfielder has told the Lisbon side he will not renew a contract that runs out at the end of the season.
Such a move would end his four-season spell at Estádio José Alvalade.
Morita came through at Kawasaki Frontale in Japan, then joined Santa Clara in the Primeira Liga. He spent a season and a half in the Azores before switching to the Portuguese capital in 2022.
Since then he has made 154 appearances as a central or defensive midfielder, including 38 this term and nine in the run to the Champions League quarter-finals, where Sporting will face Arsenal. They are currently second in the domestic league.
Leeds have ample midfield options, with Ethan Ampadu and Anton Stach enjoying strong seasons. Ao Tanaka has struggled for game time and Sean Langstaff is also available.
