Sergio Ramos, the 39-year-old Spanish centre-back, has officially announced his departure from Mexican side Monterrey. His contract will not be renewed, making him a free agent. The decision follows the club's exit from the Liga MX Apertura semi-finals at the hands of Toluca, a match Ramos has confirmed was his final appearance for the team.

Despite this chapter closing, Ramos has made it clear he is not ready to end his playing career. He has openly stated his ambition to secure a return to European football and is currently evaluating potential opportunities. While there has been past speculation linking him to Italian clubs, no formal proposals have materialised thus far.

His tenure in Mexico saw him feature in 32 matches across all competitions, where he managed to score seven goals and was shown one red card.
