We have our sights on the Austrian Women's Cup final! LASK stand in our way – with the semi-final taking place on Saturday at the Red Bull Football Academy. Kick-off is at 12:00 noon CEST, and admission is free.
Our record in the ADMIRAL Women's Bundesliga is in our favor, as Dusan Pavlovic's team remained undefeated without conceding a goal in both league matches against the Linz side (3-0 and 0-0). Winning would be historic for both teams: not only would our team, in their debut season as FC Red Bull Salzburg, deservedly reach the final for the first time, after our predecessor club, FC Bergheim, were knocked out in the semi-finals last season, but the Upper Austrian side would also be breaking new ground with a victory.

Our team has had a more impressive path to the last four. Following their resounding 8-0 victory against Alberschwende, Laura Spinn and her teammates secured further wins with clean sheets against Wacker Innsbruck and Blau-Weiß Linz/Kleinmünchen. In contrast, LASK, who not only secured victories over Wallern/Krenglbach and Klagenfurt, also had to go to extra time – in the second round, LASK, who have lost three of its last four competitive matches, only managed to defeat Rankweil in an additional 30 minutes.
Whether the final, which will take place on 13 or 14 May, will be held in Wiener Neustadt, as it has been for the past three seasons, is not yet confirmed. However, it is certain that this semi-final will be broadcast live on ORF Sport + in Austria for everyone who can't make it to the ground. Referee Lena Hirtl will officiate the match.
A cup semi-final is always something very special. It's a huge opportunity and, at the same time, a challenge for us. LASK are a bit more mature and experienced than we are. They have also made progress in their football, so they are strong opponents. For us, it will be important to bring our intensity and mindset to the pitch. The focus is solely on our performance as that's the only thing we can influence.
