How Arsenal's next five fixtures compare to Liverpool's after slender Chelsea win

A win was very much a win for Arsenal on Sunday afternoon as the Gunners edged past London rivals Chelsea 1-0 at the Emirates.

This was a contest that'll almost immediately be forgotten, and Arsenal's victory is unlikely to have any major implications on the title 'race' given Liverpool's significant advantage at the summit.

The triumph at least means the Gunners stopped their winless Premier League run at three games all while continuing their recent superiority over Chelsea, who still haven't beaten their capital rivals since 2021.

Liverpool are 12 points clear with nine games to go. Stranger things have happened...

Here's a closer look at both sides' next five Premier League fixtures.

There have been positive updates regarding Bukayo Saka's recovery from hamstring surgery over the past couple of weeks, and Arsenal's Premier League clash with Fulham after the March international break has been cited as a potential return date for the English superstar.

With the Gunners playing the evening before the league leaders, they could reduce the deficit to Liverpool to single digits before Everton visit Anfield.

The Toffees face Arsenal four days later in the early Saturday kick-off at Goodison Park. A Sean Dyche-led Everton tamed Mikel Arteta's side in the reverse fixture, grinding out a goalless stalemate, and the Gunners have had their issues on Merseyside in recent years. They edged a tight affair at the start of last season but were beaten 1-0 at the start of Dyche's tenure.

This will be Arsenal's last visit to Goodison.

No team has been more prolific away from home in 2025 than Brentford, and the Bees were victorious on their travels again on Saturday as they came from behind to beat European hopefuls Bournemouth 2-1. Thomas Frank's side visit the Emirates in between Arsenal's Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.

After visiting the Bernabeu, the Gunners take on a struggling Ipswich side at Portman Road aiming to delay Liverpool's title confirmation. The following weekend, a resurgent Crystal Palace travel across the Thames for their third meeting of the season. Arsenal have won both duels, claiming a 5-1 win in the reverse fixture.

Goodison Park's final Merseyside Derby will be etched into Everton folklore, and the dramatic 2-2 draw remains firmly in the minds of this Liverpool squad.

The post-match scenes were vintage, and we're set for a tastier than usual affair after the international break. The Toffees, who extended their unbeaten run with David Moyes at the helm to nine games at the weekend, visit Anfield on 2 April aiming for their third Premier League win across Stanley Park this century.

Fulham boast European aspirations and have proven to be tricky opposition at Craven Cottage this season. They weren't able to take full advantage of Andy Robertson's sending off in the reverse fixture, allowing the runaway league leaders to claim a point in a back-and-forth affair.

Diogo Jota was on the scoresheet in west London last season, and the Portuguese forward may well enter the contest having failed to score a Premier League goal since 14 January. Jota was also the man who rescued a point for the Reds in the reverse fixture.

Liverpool return to Anfield the following week with a rather uninspiring West Ham outfit coming to town. The Hammers have won twice on the red half of the Mersey since 1963, and Graham Potter hasn't exactly got the east Londoners purring at the start of his tenure.

Given the size of their advantage at the summit, we may well enter title-securing season towards the end of April. Liverpool's trip to Leicester may be a game or two too soon after Arsenal's win over Chelsea, but Spurs' visit the following week on Gameweek 34 has been noted as the potential day.
