According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Nigerian fits perfectly into Cristian Chivu’s new formation.

Talks between Atalanta and Inter are ongoing after the Nerazzurri agreed personal terms with the player.

Indeed, Ademola Lookman has accepted Inter’s five-year contract offer worth €4.5 million net per season.

Meanwhile, Atalanta rejected Inter’s opening bid, deeming their €40m proposal insufficient.

Inter will likely stray away from Simone Inzaghi’s trademark 3-5-2 set-up next term.

Indeed, Chivu plans to make slight adjustments to Inzaghi’s formation and switch to a 3-4-2-1.

That would see Marcus Thuram drop back, leaving Lautaro Martinez as the only center-forward.

Meanwhile, Lookman would likely slot next to the French star behind El Toro.

Lookman’s speed and one-on-one ability make him an ideal fit for the second line.

Therefore, it allows him to exploit spaces and break defenses from the wing.

Although Lookman’s versatility enables him to play anywhere alongside the frontline, he’s most comfortable on the left wing.
