The subject of personnel woes has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the day to date.

As much comes after Barca’s worst fears were confirmed.

Upon his return from international duty with Uruguay, Ronald Araújo was swiftly subjected to a round of medical tests, to ascertain the extent of the damage done to his hamstring.

And the tests at hand went on to reveal a serious issue, which will see the stopper forced under the knife, and sidelined, potentially, all the way through to December.

This will not only mark a blow when it comes to the options at the disposal of Hansi Flick for the season ahead, however.

It will also come as one on the financial front for Barcelona.

This comes with the departures of two players previously considered as available for the right price having been all but ruled out.

The pair in question? Íñigo Martínez, and Eric García.

As per a report from Diario AS:

‘Íñigo Martínez, whose registration was up in the air, and Eric García, who was loaned last season to Girona, in principle, will both remain at FC Barcelona.’
