Joe Rodon is integral for Wales and a mainstay at Leeds United, his international work complementing his club form.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, while international breaks often worry clubs, Rodon's Wales duty is arguably proving a positive for Leeds.
He arrived on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, then made the move permanent a year later. He has 128 appearances for Leeds. This season he has played 91% of their Premier League minutes.
Viewed as a leader under Daniel Farke, his authority is reinforced by his Wales standing. He has 58 caps and has played at the Euros and the World Cup. He debuted in 2019 at 21 alongside Gareth Bale, Neil Taylor and Wayne Hennessey in a Euro 2020 qualifier.
Under Craig Bellamy he is one of the leaders on the pitch and embraces that responsibility. He says he has always been vocal, learnt from an older group and now finds himself among the seniors sooner than expected.
Bellamy won 78 caps and scored 19 goals for Wales, which rank ninth and seventh on the Dragons' all-time lists. His club career included spells with Manchester City, Newcastle United, Liverpool, Cardiff City and Celtic.
Rodon describes Bellamy and his staff as obsessive about the game, says he has learnt a great deal from them and relishes the training environment. He is eager to link up again.
He is set to feature on Thursday night when Wales face Bosnia and Herzegovina in a World Cup qualification playoff in Cardiff.
