The London clubs will be looking forward to facing their bitter rivals in the league, with their last clash coming in February 2012.

The Hammers finished 18th in the Premier League, coming two points adrift of safety, while Alex Neil’s side lost out on automatic promotion by just one point.

The Lions earned a place in the play-offs after coming third in the Championship, but suffered defeat to Hull City in the semi-finals.

Both teams will be aiming to fight for promotion in 2027, with Nuno Espírito Santo targeting a top two finish at the first attempt.

With the new campaign getting underway the weekend of 14 August, both teams have already sold plenty of season tickets in anticipation of a potentially promising year ahead.

The London Stadium will be the biggest ground of any side in the Championship next season, with a capacity of over 60,000.

The venue was once the home of the 2012 London Olympics, but will now host second division football next season.

Despite the disappointment of coming 18th in the Premier League, the Hammers have confirmed that more than 35,000 season tickets have been renewed ahead of the new campaign.

There is still a little over a week remaining for supporters to renew their ticket, while the club expects over 40,000 season tickets to be sold in total.

In comparison, Middlesbrough’s stadium, the Riverside, is the next biggest home venue in the Championship for next season, with a capacity of around 33,000.

Meanwhile, Millwall’s home, the Den, has a total capacity of around 21,000.

The Lions have confirmed that over 12,000 season tickets have been sold ahead of the new campaign.

The London outfit have also revealed that their unreserved allocation has sold out, while existing season ticket holders still have a little over a week to renew for the next year.

While Millwall are still swallowing the disappointment of losing in the play-offs, supporters can take solace from West Ham’s relegation.

The two teams will now get to meet for the first time in 14 years, and the Lions will be confident that they can get a result if they can take their form from last season into the new campaign.

Neil’s side narrowly missed out on automatic promotion, and could’ve swapped divisions with their bitter rivals as a result.

But it will be some consolation for Millwall that they will get the chance to earn a first win against the Hammers since November 2004.

The season ticket allocation for both clubs highlights the difference in their size, with West Ham selling almost twice as many as the Den’s total capacity.

The first league meeting between the two clubs will take place on the weekend of 18 September at the London Stadium, while the reverse fixture will have to wait until the weekend of 19 February 2027.

Both sets of supporters will already be counting down the days until then.
