Blackburn are aiming to climb up the Championship standings as they make the short trip to Preston.
Blackburn Rovers are desperate to climb the Championship standings after a far from ideal opening period leaves them sitting in 19th, with a Friday night Lancashire derby clash with Preston North End next on the agenda.
Rovers began turning a corner before the international break, with three of their five wins this term coming in their last five after a winless run stretching back to September.
And the nine points came sensationally, with three wins on the spin against relegated pair Southampton and Leicester respectively, before beating Bristol City.
Valerien Ismael's side are aiming for another scalp as they make the short trip to Preston North End, who are flying high in the Championship this season, with the Lilywhites occupying fourth place after 15 outings.
Travelling just over 13 miles down the road, Ismael will be delighted with the backing that his side is set to receive as the two Lancashire outfits go head-to-head on Friday night.

Rovers confirmed via their official club channels that Friday's trip to Preston is close to selling out, with 300 tickets remaining out of the initial 5000 allocation.
The confirmation adds that there will be no sales on the night of the match, urging supporters to act fast and pick up a ticket before 12 noon on Thursday, which they will surely do and sell out those remaining 300 tickets.
Away days have not been a problem for Rovers this term, with four of their five wins coming on their travels.
These 12 points leave them fourth in the second-tier away table, while their four points at Ewood Park give them the fourth-worst home record in the division.
And while the last three fixtures at Deepdale have ended with the scores level, Rovers haven't lost away at Preston since 2019, and haven't tasted defeat in this fixture in any of the last three meetings.
Backed by a big following, Blackburn will hope that Deepdale proves a happy hunting ground again as they look to propel themselves up the order.

Since Blackburn's ascent back to the Championship in 2018, Preston have finished ahead four times, compared to Rovers' three.
However, the Blackburn camp have found themselves in multiple play-off hunts, which they would ultimately fall short in. This time, it is North End that are searching for their first top six finish since their second tier arrival in 2015.
The Lilywhites are currently sitting in fourth, with a three-point lead over Ipswich, who occupy seventh. And while the club is not necessarily expected to go the distance, the tables have turned when compared to their nearest and dearest.
With Blackpool and Burnley not in the division, the pair have become each other's de facto rivals for the season, and a win for either side would be huge when their differing ambitions are considered.
Blackburn are looking to extend their six-point gap to the bottom three, without having to rely on their rescheduled game in hand against Ipswich on December 2nd.
