Chelsea and Ajax meet for just the third time ever as Champions League football continues tonight.

The two sides have made contrasting starts to their European campaigns this season as both were beaten in their first League Phase fixtures against Bayern Munich and Inter Milan respectively.

However, Chelsea bounced back on matchday two as they edged past Benfica on Jose Mourinho’s homecoming. That began a three-game winning run across all competitions.

On the same night, Ajax were beaten 4-0 away at Marseille and arrive in west London still looking for their first points and goals in this season’s competition.

John Heitinga, who was part of Arne Slot’s coaching staff at Liverpool last season, has endured a difficult start to life as Ajax boss with speculation surrounding his future building amid a run of one win in five games.

While both teams are regulars in Europe’s premier competition, this will be just the third meeting between them and Chelsea will be seeking to maintain their unbeaten record.

TV channel: In the UK, the game will be televised live on TNT Sports. Coverage starts at 7pm BST on TNT Sports 2 and TNT Sports Ultimate ahead of the 8pm kick-off.
