Gunners seeking a return to winning ways after losing long unbeaten run at the weekend
Arsenal return to Champions League action with a tricky test against Club Brugge.
The Gunners go into their sixth match of the league phase hoping to maintain their 100 per cent winning record in Europe this season and move one step closer to confirming a top-eight finish.
Arsenal did concede their first goal in the competition in the 3-1 win over Bayern Munich a fortnight ago, but they’ve kept clean sheets on the road against Athletic Club and Slavia Prague so far.
Mikel Arteta’s side, however, were beaten for the first time since August at the weekend - conceding in the last minute away at Aston Villa - so will be keen to get back on the winning trail.
Their opponents tonight, Club Brugge, are in somewhat of a crisis. On Monday they sacked head coach Nicky Hayen after a run of two wins in seven games, and could be without as many as nine senior players for the visit of the Gunners.
Ivan Leko has since been appointed as Hayen’s replacement and he will be looking to begin his reign with a statement win over Arsenal to boost his new club’s hopes of avoiding an early elimination from the Champions League.
