The Blues face their longest away trip of the league phase
Chelsea are in Azerbaijan this evening to face Qarabag FK in the Champions League.
It is the Blues’ fourth league phase outing and they come into the affair just outside of the automatic qualification places, with two wins and one loss to their name.
The exact same is true of Qarabag, though, who have a knack for felling giants. They came from behind to beat Benfica 3-2 on matchday one, leading to the sacking of Bruno Lage and subsequent rehiring of Jose Mourinho, before sinking Copenhagen.
Atletico Madrid proved too big an ask, but a return to home turf will leave the Atlılar confident of an upset.
It is a considerable away day for the Blues, who face a round trip of around 5,000 miles to attend the match in Baku.
They have won in the Azerbaijan capital twice before, though. They sent Qarabag packing both home and away in the Champions League group phase in 2017-18, and also pipped Arsenal in the Europa League final there the following season.
With the positive momentum of a derby win over Tottenham at their backs, Chelsea could take their run to seven wins in their last eight matches.
TV channel: In the UK, the game will be televised live on TNT Sports 2, with coverage starting at 5pm ahead of a 5.45pm kick-off.
Live stream: TNT Sports subscribers can also catch the contest live online via the Discovery+ app and website.
Live blog: You can follow all the action on matchday via Standard Sport’s live blog.
