North Londoners looking to snap losing run
Thomas Frank’s side have suffered two defeats on the bounce in the past week, heavily beaten at Arsenal in the north London derby, before throwing away two leads in the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain.
Spurs were humbled 4-1 by their local rivals last weekend, and produced a stirring response at the Parc des Princes as a result, but some sloppy second-half defending and a wondrous performance from Vitinha put them to the sword in the French capital.
Now, they face another London rival in Marco Silva’s Cottagers, who arrive at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 15th.
The west Londoners edged out Sunderland 1-0 last time out to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat at Everton, but their patchy form has them in the lower reaches of the table.
Spurs will see this as a hugely winnable game as they look to close the gap back up on the top four, with Frank’s side sitting ninth and three points off the Champions League places.
