How Xabi Alonso responded to Real Madrid fans booing Vinícius Jr. | OneFootball

Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has provided his take on the latest round of criticism aimed in the direction of Blancos star Vinícius Jr.

This comes after the Brazilian was again targeted by the club’s supporters on Sunday.

Vinícius was for his part in from the off once more yesterday, as Real Madrid locked horns with Real Betis in a La Liga clash.

When all was said and done on the night, the capital heavyweights emerged on the right side of a 5-1 result.

As alluded to above, though, this did not stop the Real faithful from taking aim at their side’s star winger.

Upon Vinícius being hooked from proceedings late on, the 25-year-old was met with whistles, jeers and boos from considerable sections of the Bernabéu crowd.

Speaking to the media post-match, the subject of as much was therefore put to Xabi Alonso.

And the Spanish tactician went on to explain:

“Bernabéu booing Vinícius ? Viní is mature. He is fundamental and will always be. I’m sure the Bernabéu will support him.”
