Hamburger SV are seeking a new deputy to Daniel Heuer Fernandes after Daniel Peretz's loan was terminated. Hamburger Abendblatt reports that SV Elversberg goalkeeper Nicolas Kristof is under consideration.
Kristof has been with the Saarland side since 2021, rising from the Regionalliga to the 2. Bundesliga play-offs.
This season he has been central to an Elversberg defence that has conceded only 15 goals, the second-best record in the 2. Bundesliga behind Schalke.
He has started all 17 league matches and kept seven clean sheets, with his valuation now €1.8 million.
Last season, he kept 13 clean sheets as the Saarlanders lost to Heidenheim in the relegation play-offs.
HSV reportedly have a budget of €2 million, once earmarked for a striker, that can be used elsewhere after the loan of Damion Downs.
