Vincent Kompany continues to provide great satisfaction at FC Bayern – now the coach is even receiving praise from the top management

In an interview with AS, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge spoke at length about current developments at the German record champions – and had strong words for the Bayern coach

After a turbulent coaching search last year, the club seems to have hit the bull’s eye with its decision to appoint the Belgian: „After several rejections, we decided on Vinnie. Sometimes fate smiles on you,“ explained Rummenigge

Particularly noteworthy: the former CEO already ranks Kompany alongside the greatest coaches in the club’s history

„We are lucky to have him. I have seen great coaches at Bayern – Lattek, Hitzfeld, Heynckes, Guardiola – and Vinnie matches that level,“ he enthused

Rummenigge is thus making it clear just how highly regarded Kompany has become internally. The Belgian has clearly managed to impress both on a sporting and personal level

Rummenigge also highlights the development of the team. After difficult phases in recent years, FC Bayern seems to have regained stability: „I’m enjoying watching the team again, which hasn’t always been the case in recent years. The soccer is good, the results are right and there is calm at the club again. The coach is the most important employee and Vinnie is a blessing, also on a human level.“

In addition to the sporting successes, the 69-year-old also praises the coach’s handling of the available resources and young players: „He works with what the club gives him and gets the best out of it. We have also asked him to place more trust in the youth department and he has integrated nine players into the team, most notably Lennart Karl.“

The statements clearly show that Kompany has earned a great deal of trust at FC Bayern in a short space of time – and is already being compared internally with the most successful coaches in the club’s history.
