Hugo Souza leads dressing room celebrations as Corinthians beat Grêmio

Corinthians defeated Grêmio and ended a taboo at the Neo Química Arena. As usual, the club released behind-the-scenes footage of the match, showing Dorival Júnior motivating the squad and Hugo Souza taking charge of the locker room before and after the game, which featured goals from Gustavo Henrique and Memphis Depay.

The content began by showing the players’ warm-up routine. After the work on the field, Dorival Júnior started his pre-match talk. “Let’s go, let’s play our game. Working the ball the way we did in training. Now is the time to reflect our training,” motivated Dorival Júnior.

As mentioned, the goals of the match were scored by Gustavo Henrique and Memphis Depay. The striker ended a three-month goal drought with the Corinthians shirt and celebrated both the goal and the team’s performance over the 90 minutes.

“First of all, I’m happy to score the goal and happy with the game. I think the team played very well. We had a lot of possession, we were focused, we created opportunities. We could have scored more goals, but I think we did today, so it’s a good feeling,” said the number 10.

After the victory, Corinthians will travel to Bragança Paulista to face Red Bull Bragantino in the 32nd round of the Brasileirão. The match will take place on Wednesday (5th), with Timão looking to secure their fourth consecutive win.
