Hugo Souza returns for Corinthians v Grêmio: "I want to help"

On the morning of this Saturday, November 1st, Corinthians used the space at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava to finalize preparations with an eye on Grêmio. With Hugo Souza back, the match takes place this Sunday, for the 31st round of the Brasileirão, starting at 4 PM (Brasília time), at Neo Química Arena.

After starting ball work and using shoulder protection in Friday's activity, Hugo Souza was cleared by the medical department to be used by the coaching staff in the match. He recovered from an acromioclavicular dislocation in his left shoulder.

“I am very happy to be back. Thanks to God and the medical department, who did an incredible job, I returned earlier than expected. This is the result of hard work and dedication. I want to help the team achieve the third consecutive victory. We need this streak to aim for big things in the championship. I hope to continue helping as always. I love being on the field, I love wearing this jersey. This is how I will face another game”, celebrated the player.

On the last day of training, Corinthians started the activity inside the CT, where the staff showed tactical instruction videos in the Flexform Briefing Room. Then, they did strength work in the gym. To finish, there were two tactical exercises and set-piece training.

Besides Hugo Souza, Matheuzinho and Maycon also reinforce Corinthians against Grêmio. The outfield players received warnings against Atlético-MG and had to serve suspensions against Vitória, returning to the field with a clean slate of cards.

On the other hand, three midfielders will have to serve suspensions in this match: Breno Bidon, José Martínez, and Raniele. The first was sent off against Vitória, while the other two were on the verge of suspension and were warned.

The match against Grêmio is seen as a direct confrontation, as both teams have 39 points. Corinthians is one position above and seeks to string together a third consecutive victory to keep looking towards the top of the table.
