Former Scotland international striker Ally McCoist has jumped in to defend one former Chelsea manager who he says was overly criticised.
The news comes off the back of Chelsea beating Leicester City 1-0 in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon in what was a vital three points in the race for Champions League spots.
It didn’t look like it was going to be Chelsea’s day after Cole Palmer missed a first half penalty when most of us would of put our houses on him scoring it.
Enzo Maresca was very pleased with the three points but he did once again threaten to take off one of his players if they went against his passing tactics.
All in all though it was a good afternoon for Chelsea as they firmly put themselves back in to fourth place in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, former Chelsea player and manager as well as club legend Frank Lampard is doing incredibly well as Coventry manager, leading them from just above the relegation zone into the Play Off spots in the Championship.

‘Rangers should have gone for Frank Lampard before he went to Coventry,’ McCoist told talkSPORT BET via The Metro.
‘I’ve said this for a while and I think he could’ve been like Steven Gerrard in the way that they come to the club with the hunger to succeed, as I always felt that he was overly criticised for some of the results at his previous jobs, he looks to have found his feet.’
McCoist is now one of the best pundits in the game in my opinion and is also a self-confessed Rangers fan still. So for him to say this about Lampard for me holds a lot of weight.
I think Lampard’s Chelsea story will continue one day down the line!
