FC Barcelona ensured they ended La Liga 2025/26 matchday 23 at the top of the league table with a 3-0 win over a resilient Mallorca side last night. Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal were once again on the scoresheet for the Catalan team, joined by another unexpected scorer, midfielder Marc Bernal.

The Spaniard netted an impressive goal after coming on in the 67th minute for Dani Olmo. As Mundo Deportivo reported, he also spoke about the goal and his career in general after the game.

The young midfielder expressed his delight at scoring:

“I’m very happy, it was very special.”

Bernal also talked about the goal he scored at some length:

“When I saw Fermín looking at me, I spotted the space. I didn’t hesitate and moved forward. I was going to shoot with my right foot, but I saw Maffeo, and since I trust my left foot more, I cut inside. The truth is that Mascarell touches it. It made me incredibly happy. These are moments you don’t even dream about as a kid.”

The youngster highlighted how his goal meant a lot to him, especially after a traumatic last year:

“When I scored the goal, I thought a lot about last year, about how hard it was. It’s a huge satisfaction, also for my family. I remembered them.”

The Spaniard confirmed that he is getting better and better:

“From the beginning, I knew I would improve gradually. Now I’m much better, in better shape. I want to make the most of my minutes.”

The midfielder also talked about the harmony in the team:

“We’re in a very good rhythm. The most important thing is the relationship we have with each other, even though there’s competition. The relationship is very healthy; we all get along very well.”

Hopefully, this goal will push Marc Bernal to get even better and get over the difficulties he faced during the last season, and go on to become another notable midfielder in Barcelona history.
