Last night’s big fixture in Italy was Napoli against AC Milan, with the Neapolitans winning 2-1.

The performance infuriated TuttoMercatoWeb writer Pietro Mazzara, who was not happy in his piece on the game:

“After the first twenty minutes of Napoli-Milan, honestly, I wanted to throw the remote control at the television. Because an approach to the game like the one shown by the players is inconceivable,” Mazzara wrote.

He took particular issue with the decision to play on loan Chelsea player Joao Felix, and the Portuguese player’s performance: “[playing Felix ahead of Rafael Leao], a choice that nobody apart from Felix himself would have agreed with… the Chelsea-owned player did nothing for the entire first half, but was persevered with until 8 minutes into the second.”

It seems the former Atletico man is now infuriating fans of yet another club in yet another country.

Felix left with nowhere to go

Well, let us tell you Pietro, we understand. We’ve seen the same thing plenty of times from Felix. Milan are lucky – they have him on loan and only have to put up with him until the end of the season.

Just don’t make the same mistake we did and buy him permanently (for no good reason) 12 months after you managed to get rid of him.

Frankly, and unfortunately for Chelsea, there doesn’t seem to be any risk of that. Milan don’t want him, Chelsea look to have already given up on him after 6 months of having him back. Who is realistically going to be interested in taking him on next year after he once again proved he’s just a mirage of a player?

The £45m we paid was called a bargain by some at the time – it looks quite the opposite now. He may have a role to play in our first team squad next season, but probably only if we can’t find a taker for him at all. Enzo Maresca showed pretty little interest in using him more than necessary, and we can’t blame him.
