Lionel Messi (37) has said that he doesn’t miss anything about Paris Saint-Germain after opening up about his experience for the Ligue 1 giants once again.
In an interview on Apple Music, the 2022 World Cup champion said: “I wasn’t happy on a daily basis, with the training, the matches, I had a hard time adapting to all of this.”
The former eight-time Ballon d’Or winner left FC Barcelona to come to PSG in 2021, playing in the French capital for two seasons.
“The way things have evolved in my last years in Paris, even though it was a decision that I had to make immediately because I had to leave Barcelona, I lived there for two years and I didn’t like it. I wasn’t happy on a daily basis, in training, in games, I had a hard time adapting to all of this,” Messi went on to say.
During his time with Les Parisiens, Messi won two Ligue 1 titles and a Trophée de Champions, but he could not take them to the UEFA Champions League crown, with PSG falling in the round of 16 in his two seasons at the club.
In his final season with them, he achieved a remarkable feat: getting to 1,000 direct goal involvements at club level.
Messi came to PSG in August 2021 on a two-year deal with an option for a third. Rather than play a third season, the Argentine went to Major League Soccer (MLS), signing for Inter Miami in 2023.
