Ibrahima Fofana extends contract with Hammarby

Hammarby IF has confirmed the contract extension of their Guinean defender Ibrahima Fofana, who will remain with the club until 2029.

The 23-year-old defender joined Hammarby in the summer of 2023 from Club NXT. He first played for Hammarby TFF before making his mark in the Allsvenskan, where he has made 34 appearances, including 21 in the most recent season.

Mikael Hjelmberg, sporting director of the Swedish club, underlined Fofana's importance:

He is a key player for our team, both now and for the future. His technical abilities and leadership are crucial for our project.

Fofana himself expressed his motivation for what lies ahead:

Signing this new contract is a great joy. I will give my all for Hammarby and I am confident that we can achieve great things this season.
