“I’ll know for sure” – Chelsea bomb squad member hints at possible change to future

A Chelsea bomb squad member has dropped some hints at a possible change in his future after failing to get a move this summer.

Chelsea’s ‘bomb squad’ is a much talked about subject and many do not like it at all. It isolates players that the club are trying to sell and makes them train, eat, and change alone in a separate group to the first team squad. I see the pros of doing this, but there is certainly a human element that I do not like. It’s not a great way to treat people who you employ.

Anyway, Axel Disasi is certainly one of the players currently in the bomb squad after failing to get a move this summer and being forced to stay at the club.

The defender wanted to return to his former club Monaco and admits that he pushed for that deal to happen until the final moments of the window. However, it didn’t go ahead because Chelsea had used up all their foreign loan spots.

The French player has now been left stuck in limbo at Chelsea and there’s been talk that he could even be reintegrated into Enzo Maresca’s first team squad as highly unlikely as that might be. He could also still jump ship with some transfer windows still open around the world.

So what next for Disasi? Well, he hints that his future will be decided next week. Whether that means he will go for a late move somewhere, or whether he might actually be coming back into Maresca’s squad, we have no idea. But he’s certainly seemingly got something up his sleeve with these comments.

Disasi said via SPTC:

“Currently, my situation is that I’m continuing to train. By next week, I’ll know for sure what my future holds.”
